Job Description:

Due to increased workload, we are looking for experienced Mechanical Design & Development Engineers to work across all phases of the Product Life Cycle, including Mechanical Future Concepts, Detailed Design, Qualification/Testing, Production, and In-service Support. You will lead the development of mechanical solutions for complex defence systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £45,000-£58,000

Location: Worcestershire

The Role:
  • Lead design improvement projects and NPD projects, working with internal teams and external partners to solve complex problems and meet stakeholder needs.
  • Manage design evolution, DFMEA, and optimize engineering solutions within budget and schedule.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance on business programs.
  • Follow mechanical and company design lifecycles.
  • Develop prototypes and physical representations.
  • Support technical investigations and deliver solutions.
  • Facilitate reviews and approve mechanical designs per standards.
  • Contribute to manufacturability improvements through collaboration and guidance.
Experience:
  • Degree/MSc in Engineering, Technical, or Science, with aerospace, defence, or related experience.
  • Understanding of engineering principles, problem-solving, and concurrent engineering.
  • Experience in detailed mechanical design, analysis, tolerance studies, and documentation.
  • Leadership skills and ability to communicate technical info clearly.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering and Project Management fundamentals.
  • Business awareness and decision-making skills.
