Job summary

VIRTUS Data Centres seeks a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team, overseeing the design, installation and commissioning of mechanical systems for data centre projects.

Based primarily on site, you will ensure energy efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards, while coordinating with project management, MEP design and construction teams to deliver reliable infrastructure for our clients.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds/NVQ in mechanical discipline required.
• Building Services or Mechanical Engineering degree (HNC/HND/BSc) preferred.
• Experience with data centre mechanical systems and energy efficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, installation and commissioning of mechanical systems for data centre projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors and internal teams to deliver on schedule.
• Conduct monthly configuration audits to ensure alignment with standards.
• Review change management processes and assess risk/impact of changes.
• Support sustainability efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce downtime.
