Job summary

Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading UK power company to recruit a Mechanical Engineer for a CCGT site in Kent. The role offers a salary up to £65,000 plus private medical and a benefits package.

The successful candidate will perform preplanned and reactive maintenance on major equipment, plan outages, and supervise contractors while ensuring all activities meet safety standards and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Heavy industrial maintenance experience, preferably in power, refinery or petrochemical environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to plan and schedule maintenance safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preplanned and reactive maintenance on site on conveyors, gearboxes, valves, compressors, fans, boilers, etc.
• Schedule, plan and optimise mechanical maintenance activities including shutdowns/outages.
• Supervise and direct contractors as required.
• Collaborate with operations to review plant performance and return to service.
• Experience with long-term outage planning and contract/spec writing is beneficial.
