Mechanical Fitting Instructor/Assessor

Angus Training Group is seeking to appoint a new Mechanical Engineering Instructor to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional with strong technical expertise, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for inspiring and developing future engineers. While technical skills are essential, training and support will be provided to enhance instructional capabilities as needed.

Job Summary

As a Mechanical Fitting Instructor/Assessor, you will:

  • Guide and support learners in developing practical hand skills and acquiring the underpinning knowledge needed for the successful completion of Mechanical Engineering training programs and the achievement of relevant SVQ qualifications.
  • Play a key role in shaping the next generation of engineers, fostering their growth and professional success.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design, deliver, and manage comprehensive training programs for apprentices, incorporating PowerPoint presentations and hands-on demonstrations of key mechanical fitting skills.
  • Monitor and record trainee progress, maintaining accurate documentation and reports.
  • Ensure the maintenance and up-to-date status of the department's equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborate with learners, offering guidance and encouragement to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Training and support will be provided for the right candidate to excel in this role.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on:
  • Mechanical fitting and hand skills.
  • Building and assembling mechanical components.
  • Machine repair and maintenance.
  • Fault finding and resolving issues in mechanical assemblies.
