An established industry player is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a 6-month contract opportunity in York. Job description

We now have a 6-month contract opportunity (outside IR35) available for a Mechanical Engineer to be based ideally in York. However, there are opportunities to be based in various areas of the country due to multiple office locations. Working arrangements will be flexible, but a hybrid model would be preferred.

The purpose of the role is to produce the design delivery of allocated MEP Projects as instructed by the Projects Lead MEP Engineer.

Principal responsibilities:

1. Complete designs to meet the CRE or Lead Engineers' requirements within the agreed timescales.
2. Plan the allocated design works to meet the deadlines.
3. Identify changes to the project's client requirements and raise these with the CRE or Lead Engineer.

Key skills/experience required:

• Knowledge/experience of mechanical services design within the built environment or transport infrastructure, including HVAC, Public Health, Building Physics, and BIM.
• Knowledge/experience of multidisciplinary issues associated with M&E and building services.
• A good understanding of construction principles and standards.
• Experience using Hevacomp and/or Thermal Modelling Design Software.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Personable and capable of building and maintaining good relationships with engineers from other internal discipline teams.
