Job details

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in robotics application design to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems and components for robotics applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to create efficient and high-performance robotic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development: Develop and design mechanical components, subsystems, and overall robotic systems for various applications, including automation, industrial robotics, and service robots. Perform 3D modeling, CAD design, and detailed drawings of mechanical components using tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software. Design and optimize mechanical systems for strength, weight, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and ease of assembly.
  2. Prototyping and Testing: Build and prototype mechanical systems and parts for robotic applications. Conduct mechanical testing and analysis to validate the performance and reliability of robotic components and systems. Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve mechanical design issues throughout the development process.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are cost-effective, manufacturable, and scalable. Provide technical support during production and deployment phases.
  4. Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, and cutting-edge technologies in robotics. Propose and implement improvements in mechanical design and system performance. Innovate and explore new methods for solving complex mechanical design challenges.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including specifications, test results, and revisions. Generate reports and presentations to communicate progress and outcomes to teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Proven experience (3+ years) in mechanical design for robotics or automation applications. Hands-on experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and materials selection, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
  3. Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, kinematics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and experience with FEA, CFD, or similar simulation tools. Proficiency in prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, CNC machining. Familiarity with embedded systems and sensors (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per month

Location: Windsor, ON

Workplace: On-site
