Job description
Overview

If you're the type of engineer who prefers a clipboard to a spanner, this probably isn't the role for you.

If you're a Mechanical Engineer who doesn't mind getting stuck in when things stop working. The kit here isn't dainty - conveyors, ovens, mixers, and plenty of other moving parts. When something breaks, it needs sorting quickly and properly. That's where you come in.

It's not all firefighting though. There's plenty of planned preventative maintenance to keep you busy, and we're big on spotting ways to improve how things run, not just patching things up.

Responsibilities
  • Fixing machines when they break - mechanical first and foremost, but you'll be expected to handle multi-skilled tasks too.
  • Keeping up with planned maintenance so breakdowns don't become your life.
  • Working on a mix of equipment, from conveyors and mixers to ovens and PLC-driven kit.
  • Looking for ways to make the plant run smoother, faster, and for longer.
  • Working closely with production to make sure downtime doesn't kill performance targets.
  • Sticking to safety and hygiene rules (because no one enjoys filling out accident reports).
What we need from you
  • A solid background in mechanical engineering, ideally within manufacturing.
  • You've done the hands-on work before - apprentice trained
  • You're happy in a team but can handle being the one who sorts things under pressure.
  • You can coach and support others when needed.
  • A bit of electrical knowledge would be handy, but if your strength is mechanical, that's fine.
  • Most importantly: you're motivated, proactive, and not the type to walk past a problem without fixing it.
What you'll get
  • A mix of reactive and proactive work that'll keep you busy.
  • The chance to work with a team that actually cares about keeping the place running.
