Job description

Adecco are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our client on a permanent basis, who are a leading supplier of industrial maintenance in Europe.

You will be responsible for repairing, modifying, and assembling rotational equipment, including industrial gearboxes, pumps, compressors, motors, and other industrial equipment as required. You will ensure that planned maintenance and ad hoc requests are completed to meet customer expectations and engineering standards.

This role is a day shift working 8am - 4.15pm - Monday - Friday.



Key Responsibilities

Main Tasks and Deliverables:

  • Dis-assembly and accurate re-assembly of industrial rotating equipment.
  • Performing planned and predictive maintenance.
  • Assessing the need for spare parts.
  • Effective planning and prioritisation of workload.
  • Optimising the use of resources.
  • Operating in line with relevant legislation, company policy, and procedures.
  • Completing and maintaining accurate, timely documentation and records.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
  • Supporting other teams and functions as required.
  • Undertaking self-development activities.
  • Performing any other tasks or duties as required by your line manager.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and practices.
  • Liaising with the Coordinator to establish requirements.
  • Conforming to health and safety procedures and policies.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent in a rotational discipline.
  • ONC/HNC or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of industrial gearboxes and motors, multi-skilled in basic electrical practices.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Process pumps.
  • Belt and chain drives and their application.
  • Couplings and their application.
  • Ability to build relationships.
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
  • Analytical thinker.
  • UK driving license.
