Mechanical Engineer

Location: Sunderland

Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 16:30

Salary: up to £55,000 per annum + annual bonus

What you will be doing:

1. Providing support and control over maintenance activities, systems, equipment and processes.
2. Supporting the Engineering Manager to plan shutdown work and intrusive safety critical jobs with associated test bodies and departments ensuring that all equipment is up to date, and defects are suitably managed.
3. Ensure project plans, improvements, repairs and shutdown works are performed.
4. Developing and implementing strategic plans for the mechanical engineering department.
5. Oversee and manage mechanical engineering projects.
6. Monitor and control project costs to ensure profitability.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
8. Promote Continuous improvement activities using Six Sigma methodologies.

What you will bring to the team:

1. Experienced Mechanical Engineer.
2. Processing plant knowledge.
3. Supervisory experience.
4. Mechanical engineering degree.
5. Experience working on a Comah site.
6. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and delegate.
7. Certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
8. Budgeting experience.
9. Project management experience including CDM regulations.
