Overview
Mechanical Engineer (Seismic studies) — Staffordshire, UK. 6 months +. Hybrid role : 3 days / Week Onsite at Staffordshire and 2 days Remote. This role falls under is Inside IR35
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design strategy and business development initiatives
- Manage complex, high-value projects from concept to completion
- Drive innovation, sustainability, and quality across mechanical engineering outputs
- Lead and develop engineering teams, providing technical leadership and mentorship
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to growth opportunities
- Mentoring and overseeing a small team of Junior Design Engineers
- Allocating design work throughout the team
- Assisting with creating product layouts and manufacturing drawings using customer specification and recommendations
- Generate assembly and detailed production drawings with the use of Autodesk Inventor
- Produce clear build processes to technicians
- Attend and input at various project meetings with team and customers
- Solve problems and produce new concepts
- Manage suppliers and procurement of bill of materials
- Use innovation to research latest ideas and techniques
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (BEng, MEng or equivalent)
- Proficient using 3D modelling such as Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
- Experience working in Electrical environment
- Extensive experience within a Mechanical Design Engineering role
- Qualifications within a mechanical engineering related subject are desirable
