Overview

Mechanical Engineer (Seismic studies) — Staffordshire, UK. 6 months +. Hybrid role : 3 days / Week Onsite at Staffordshire and 2 days Remote. This role falls under is Inside IR35

Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design strategy and business development initiatives
  • Manage complex, high-value projects from concept to completion
  • Drive innovation, sustainability, and quality across mechanical engineering outputs
  • Lead and develop engineering teams, providing technical leadership and mentorship
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to growth opportunities
  • Mentoring and overseeing a small team of Junior Design Engineers
  • Allocating design work throughout the team
  • Assisting with creating product layouts and manufacturing drawings using customer specification and recommendations
  • Generate assembly and detailed production drawings with the use of Autodesk Inventor
  • Produce clear build processes to technicians
  • Attend and input at various project meetings with team and customers
  • Solve problems and produce new concepts
  • Manage suppliers and procurement of bill of materials
  • Use innovation to research latest ideas and techniques
Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (BEng, MEng or equivalent)
  • Proficient using 3D modelling such as Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
  • Experience working in Electrical environment
  • Extensive experience within a Mechanical Design Engineering role
  • Qualifications within a mechanical engineering related subject are desirable
