Job summary

A leading company in the food processing sector is seeking an engineer to provide effective engineering services to support production goals. The successful candidate will maintain equipment, utilize the PPM system, and implement improvements to meet efficiency targets while working on a 4 on/4 off shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Experience in food processing industry preferred.
• Welding experience, preferably TIG.
• Automated machinery experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment proactively and reactively to ensure factories meet OEE targets.
• Utilize the PPM system (SAP) effectively for capturing engineering work.
• Respond quickly to production demands and improve equipment availability.

To provide an effective engineering service to the production team and respond to demands in a timely fashion. To maintain equipment both proactively and reactively to ensure factory performance meets targets and KPIs. To improve equipment availability and performance to meet OEE targets through identifying and implementing improvements.

To proactively use the PPM System in place (SAP) for the capture of all engineering labour and parts.

Hours of Work

4 on / 4 off Days / Nights 05:30 /17:30 / 05:30.

OR

PPM weekend shift 16:00 to 04:00 Week 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday Week 2:Saturday, Sunday, Monday

What you’ll need

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent (Mechanical).
• Qualifications to be recognised in the UK.
• Previous experience of manufacturing operations.
• Literacy/Numeracy to National Level 2 Standard.
• Delivers quality and accuracy in own work and standards.
• Able to cope under pressure and flex with peaks in personal workload.
• Able to anticipate/identify problems and use available resources to provide effective solutions.
• Able to act on decisions with the corresponding level of urgency.
• Personal/Interpersonal Skills.
• Good standard of written and spoken English.
• Experience in a food processing industry is desirable.
• Experience of poultry processing machinery is desirable.
• Welding Experience, preferably TIG.
• Knowledge of lean techniques and processes.
• Automated machinery experience is desirable.
• 17th / 18th (or equivalent) Edition Qualified.
