Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking for the opportunity to take the next step in your career? Would you like to get involved with delivering some of the world’s most exciting projects and join a dynamic, growing team who are at the forefront of building services design? If so, we want you to join our Mechanical team in Nottingham!

Based in the heart of Nottingham, our office is situated next to the National Justice Museum and benefits from excellent transport links and nearby parking. Our welcoming and diverse team is working on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in Nottingham, across the UK and around the world.

From leading-edge arts and media facilities such as the Everyman Theatre and Confetti Institute of Creative Arts to major new student residential developments, we are supporting schemes across a huge range of sectors.

Working together with a coordinated design team, you’ll help breathe life into our designs by creating mechanical design models and drawings. You’ll have the autonomy to design mechanical services in many sectors of the industry and will be client facing, representing Waterman at all levels. You’ll also get to collaborate with architects, quantity surveyors, project managers and structural engineers from external design teams.

Although we’re happy to consider applicants with more or less experience, you’ll ideally have qualifications, experience or skills in the following areas:

• Have a relevant degree or equivalent for a career in building services engineering

• You’ll be fluent in design software tools such as REVIT and ideally have had exposure to MagiCAD

• You’re a great communicator who can adapt to working with external parties and clients whilst gelling with our growing team

• You’ll have a deep understanding of project needs and will be able to manage their full delivery

• You’ll have recognised qualifications in mechanical services design and will either be working towards chartered status, or have an interest in doing so

• You’re happy working both autonomously or as part of a team to support the delivery of projects

• Experience of managing people would be an advantage

• You’re happy to be flexible - We take a collaborative approach to delivering our projects and you’ll be happy travelling and working with colleagues from across Waterman
