Job Title: Mechanical Engineer / Service Engineer / Maintenance Engineer – Food Manufacturing

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a Service / Maintenance background to join our experienced and friendly team at our established production site in Northamptonshire. Your role will involve a mix of Specialist Project work and Reactive Maintenance, ensuring variety in your daily tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in reactive maintenance (75%) and project work (25%), including inception, design, build, installation, and commissioning
• Provide specialized assistance with maintenance and repair issues
• Inspect machines and components, replacing or repairing as necessary
• Manage small to large projects, including system upgrades and integrations
• Ensure operational efficiency from a health and safety perspective

Person Specification

Qualified Mechanical, Service, or Maintenance Engineer, possibly a Field Service Engineer or Technician seeking a single-site role. Essential skills include:

• Recognized qualification (BTEC, C&G, NVQ Level 3) or apprenticeship route
• Experience servicing diverse production plant systems (conveyors, elevators, sieves, grinders, ancillary services, process equipment)
• Experience in flour or feed milling, medium/heavy industrial plant systems, boilers, compressors, sprinkler systems (advantageous)
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
