Job summary

Accord Healthcare Europe is seeking a Site Facilities Engineer to help operate the site by confirming all facilities equipment is mechanically safe and fully maintained, ensuring compliance with GMP, SOPs, FDA, MHRA, and safety standards.

You will own 100% PMI completion targets, manage follow-ups, respond to emergencies, participate in on-call duties, identify improvements across the site, and perform regular plant walks to spot issues while ensuring a clean, well-organized engineering area.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical maintenance knowledge and hands-on capability.
  • Awareness of GMP/GDP principles is beneficial.
  • Understanding of regulatory, legal and HSE requirements related to engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm all facilities equipment is mechanically safe and properly maintained.
  • Ensure 100% PMI completion targets are met and escalate/close outstanding items.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns on site and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Identify site improvement projects and participate in problem-solving (5 Whys).
  • Conduct regular plant walks to spot issues and maintain clean, organized areas.

Job description

Reporting to the Site Facilities Engineer, you will assist the continued operation of the site by confirming all facilities equipment is mechanically safe and fully maintained, whilst ensuring that all work is performed in full compliance with GMP, SOPs, FDA, MHRA, work instructions and relevant safety standards.

  • To ensure and achieve a target of 100% completion of PMIs issued by Engineering Dept. To communicate any issues that have prevented completion or achieving target.
  • Take ownership of appropriate follow up to actions identified and to close off outstanding work in a timely manner. Achieve this by escalation of outstanding issues not closed, ensure spares are ordered, checking stock and planning of remedial work with Site Facilities Engineer.
  • Respond to any emergency breakdowns whilst on site.
  • After probation is part of an emergency callout register entailing one week in four on call.
  • Actively seek to identify improvement projects across site.
  • Completion of 5-WHYS for all breakdowns over the agreed time duration and timely completion of 5-WHY input.
  • Undertake regular plant walks to identify any ongoing issues that may not have been raised by production. i.e. unusual noises, smells, visual checks across all areas.
  • Ensure standard of organization and cleanliness is maintained in working areas and other areas of engineering responsibility.
The Person:
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, cGDP would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Has up to date knowledge of regulatory, legal and HSE requirements relevant to their function
