As a Mechanical Engineer you will be part of an organisation that is 100-percent employee owned, that supports and creates many opportunities for you to advance, succeed and fulfil your career aspirations. You will have the opportunity to work with engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, and specifications from concept to completion.

About You

We are looking for someone who is personable self-starter with the ability to project a positive ‘can do’ professional attitude at all times maintaining good working relationships. Someone who enjoys working collaboratively across disciplines being able to establish excellent working rapport within the team, business and with clients, with the ability to work under pressure, handle a varied workload and keep to tight deadlines whilst maintaining the highest level of technical excellence.

Responsibilities

In the role of Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Agree design duties with your Project Manager and Office Principal / Team Leaders.
  • Carry out engineering concept design through to detailed design
  • Liaise with the design team to co-ordinate detailed designs and agree manufacturers and samples.
  • Maintain good client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Assist colleagues with identifying and implementing your personal training/CPD requirements. Help develop working practices in the Company.
  • Implement and manage tasks in accordance with QA systems and company procedures on all projects (our systems are certified to ISO9001 and ISO14001).
  • Assist with CAD resource requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BEng, MSc or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or relevant subject
  • Minimum 3yrs’ industry experience in mechanical design.
  • Experience of mechanical systems, HVAC engineering and multiples levels of resilience including cooling, ventilation, humidification, fuel oil and flue systems.
  • Design Coordination with other stakeholders & disciplines
  • Experience of mechanical systems, HVAC engineering and multiples levels of resilience including cooling, ventilation, humidification, fuel oil and flue systems.
  • Large scale chilled water and adiabatic cooling systems experience.
  • Good knowledge and use of appropriate project and design analysis software.
  • Skills in project managing on-going jobs with limited supervision are desirable.
  • Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
  • Experience in commercial or institutional facilities
  • Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
