Your new company
A South London Borough is seeking an experienced Interim Mechanical Project Engineer to join the dynamic Design Service Team. You will work under the guidance of the Principal Engineer within the Design Service Team, contributing to a variety of exciting projects aimed at enhancing the borough's infrastructure. The team is dedicated to delivering high-quality design and engineering solutions for the borough. The team specialises in the planning, development, and implementation of projects that improve public spaces, buildings, and facilities. They focus on sustainable and innovative design practices to ensure that projects meet the needs of the community while adhering to environmental standards.
Your new role

  1. Assist the Principal Engineer in the design, development, and management of mechanical projects.
  2. Conduct detailed calculations and analyses to establish standards and specifications.
  3. Oversee project activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to design specifications.
  4. Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  5. Collaborate with team members, contractors, and clients to coordinate project details.
  6. Prepare and present technical reports and project documentation.

What you'll need to succeed

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  2. Previous project management experience is recommended.
  3. A proven track record of delivering projects from inception to completion, including design, calculations and surveys.
  4. Strong leadership, organisational, and time management skills.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  6. Familiarity with project management methodologies and mechanical engineering principles.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a 3-month rolling contract paying £250-£260 per day Umbrella, flexible working- 1 anchor day in the office and 4 either on site or at home. Working hours are 7.5 per day Monday-Friday.
