Role Overview

The role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be part of a team that’s shaping the future of nuclear engineering. This exciting role within Cavendish Nuclear offers the opportunity to contribute to major defence, decommissioning, new build, and nuclear generation projects. You’ll help clean up the nuclear legacy and support the UK’s energy security and net zero commitments.

Day-to-day, you’ll

  • Promote effective cooperation across Engineering and other functional teams
  • Interface with customers and supply chain on design issues and assist with procurement specifications
  • Ensure correct application of procedures, codes, and standards to technical and engineering activities
  • Contribute to Product Safety Assessment and provide technical interface with stakeholders
  • Conduct technical investigations and analysis for problem resolution and design improvements

Essential experience of the Mechanical Engineer:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice
  • The ability to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders

Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industries
