Job details

A capital equipment machinery manufacturer, supplier new technology into the food industry are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team on a short term contract. Working within the engineering team you will help build machines, visit sites on setting up machinery and running data.

Initial three month contract, could be longer.

What You Will Do

• Operate and set up a mobile chemical production system at various customer sites across the UK.
• Assist with cleaning trials, ensuring all engineering equipment is packed, transported, and set up efficiently.
• Use power tools and assemble plastic pipes (solvent weld) as required.
• Monitor equipment, take readings, and log data using a laptop.
• Represent the company professionally on customer sites, providing excellent service and addressing any engineering-related tasks.
• Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for site-specific requirements, with training provided if necessary.
  
  

What You Will Bring

• Strong practical engineering skills, with experience in pipe fitting and using hand tools.
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to transport equipment using a long-wheelbase van.
• Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the ability to follow operation manuals.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently.
• Good communication and organisational skills, with the flexibility to work non-standard hours when required.
