Mechanical Engineer - COMAH chemical facility

Location: North West England, commutable from Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Warrington, Wigan, Stockport and Preston

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

About the role

You'll ensure the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems, managing projects, maintenance and compliance. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading mechanical-biased projects from design to completion.
  2. Developing maintenance strategies and troubleshooting issues.
  3. Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards (e.g., HAZOP, PSSR).
  4. Collaborating with teams and overseeing contractors.

What we need

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical or petrochemical plant, preferably COMAH-regulated.
  3. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and safety regulations.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
