Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in London is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning and related mechanical building systems.

You will ensure plant safety, compliance, and reliable operation while supporting client facilities and responding to maintenance challenges. The role requires formal mechanical services training, hands-on experience with pumps, motors and valves, and a strong focus on health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems.
• Maintain evaporative cooling systems and domestic water systems in line with L8 requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve plant faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Carry out maintenance on mechanical building services equipment including pumps, motors and valves.
• Ensure maintenance records are accurately completed and updated.
• Prepare and follow risk assessments and method statements for all work activities.
• Maintain compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Build positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out and standby rota when required.

The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and mechanical building systems. You will play a key role in ensuring all plant and equipment remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
