Mechanical Engineer
Part time 22.5 hours per week
GBP30,000 – GBP35,000 P/A pro rata Horsham
Permanent 3 days per week
Have you worked in the aviation space in the past?

Are you experienced in mechanical engineering? Attega Group is currently partnering exclusively with our client in recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join the team.

The main purpose of this role is to repair, assemble, and test components, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

In return, our client is offering a salary of up to GBP35,000 P/A pro rata, depending on experience, plus 22 days holiday (pro rata), rising to 25 days with length of service, on–site parking, company pension, and more!This role is part–time and permanent. The hours of work will be 22.5 per week across three days. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Disassemble mechanical components to assess damage and identify repair requirements
  • Select appropriate materials and methods to be used to complete repairs
  • Conduct functional testing of components, with a focus on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Reassemble components after repair or overhaul
  • Maintain and report operational data daily, weekly, and monthly as required
  • Produce technical documentation in line with company guidelines
The ideal candidate:
  • Must have prior experience from an aviation environment (essential)
  • Will ideally hold a qualification in mechanical engineering (preferred)
  • Must have excellent understanding of mechanical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Will need strong problem–solving skills
