Job description


We are looking for skilled Mechanical Engineersto join our client’s team in warehouse and logistics. This role involves maintaining and repairing conveyor belts and sortation controls to keep our distribution center running efficiently.

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (06:00 - 18:00 / 18:00 - 06:00)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect conveyor belts and sortation controls regularly to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and repair or replace faulty components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and calibration.
  • Assist in developing and implementing maintenance schedules, procedures, and protocols.
  • Identify areas for improvement in maintenance operations and provide recommendations to management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Support and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, or fabrication, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of conveyor belt and sortation control systems (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components) is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to take initiative.
  • Good time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Engineering or technical qualification (mechanical or electrical engineering preferred).
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations with experience in maintaining a safe working environment.
