Mechanical Engineer

We re seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our clients growing design team. You ll be involved in the design, coordination and delivery of mechanical systems across a range of building services projects, including commercial, residential and industrial developments.
If you have experience in mechanical building services design and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team delivering efficient, high-quality solutions, this could be the ideal next step in your career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical systems including HVAC, heating, ventilation, cooling and domestic services
  • Complete technical calculations, specifications and layouts
  • Coordinate with electrical and sustainability engineers to ensure fully integrated designs
  • Attend design and client meetings, and report progress back to the wider project team
  • Support project planning, internal QA processes and design verification
  • Monitor personal and team workloads, ensuring timely delivery of outputs
  • Support junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
  • Ensure all designs meet current building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and British Standards
  • Maintain strong client relationships and assist with technical queries
Candidate Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical building services design
  • Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE and BSRIA documentation
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Hevacomp and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in collaborative project delivery and multi-disciplinary coordination
  • Progressing toward CIBSE membership (preferred)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with a proactive mindset
