Working Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
About The Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team, working on a full-time basis. This role focuses on ensuring the continued operation and compliance of mechanical systems within a commercial or industrial environment. You will be responsible for routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs across a range of systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all plant and equipment to meet and exceed expectations and agreed service level agreements.
- Maintain domestic water systems in line with L8 (Legionella) standards, including regular water flushing and temperature checks.
- Identify and swiftly remedy plant faults and defects to ensure continuous operation.
- Carry out the following routine daily and weekly maintenance checks and tasks:
- Interceptor checks
- Sprinkler pump house inspections
- Fire extinguisher checks
- Fire exit door checks
- Shutter checks
- CET system checks
- Compressed air system checks
- Legionella maintenance (including water flushing and temperature monitoring)
- Plant room and pump house inspections
- Carry out general handyman works and assist with wider site maintenance as required.
- Ensure accurate completion of maintenance records, checklists, and compliance documentation.
- Follow site health and safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role, ideally within a commercial or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of domestic water systems and Legionella compliance (L8).
- Ability to identify faults and carry out efficient, safe repairs.
- Comfortable with a variety of maintenance tasks including inspections, testing, and basic handyman duties.
- CSCS card or equivalent (preferred).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
