Howdens Joinery is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer based at Howdens Work Surfaces in Normanton, West Yorkshire. This role is essential in maintaining smooth site operations through preventative maintenance, improvement projects, and breakdown repairs.

The successful candidate will have completed an engineering apprenticeship and possess maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on proactive safety practices.

Pay rate: £49,429.12 per annum (basic rate, shift & disturbance allowance) + monthly production bonus

Shift pattern: 3-week rolling shift pattern, days and nights, every Saturday off. Each three-week cycle includes 11 working days and 10 days off.

Responsibilities include:

• Proactive and preventative maintenance
• Reactive breakdown repairs
• Ownership and development of specific production line maintenance

Qualifications required:

• Experience with CNC machinery
• Knowledge of high-volume automated manufacturing equipment, fitting, and fabrication skills
• Fault finding, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Desirable: experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, and extraction systems
• Desirable: experience with computerized maintenance management systems and maintenance task development
