Job description

We are a company with 200 years of history and over 2,300 employees, dedicated to innovation and sustainable building products. We are currently recruiting for 3 Mechanical Maintenance Engineers at our SM2 Factory in Leicestershire, LE67 6HS.

The role involves providing plant-wide maintenance, supporting departmental operations, and mechanical repairs to ensure production targets are met. The shift pattern is 5 on 5 off days and nights, with 12-hour shifts, and overtime is available.

Salary: £41,220, with a 5 on 5 off shift pattern, 22 days holiday, share scheme, pension matching up to 10%, and extensive training.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing maintenance and mechanical repairs to meet production targets.
  • Supporting machine setup and changeovers to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with engineering and production managers on maintenance needs.
  • Promoting development of the Factory IMS & CMMS systems.
  • Designing and fabricating parts as needed.
  • Applying TPM tools and techniques for continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping using 5S principles.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recognized engineering apprenticeship and qualification, ideally in mechanical discipline.
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, gearboxes, and welding.
  • Health & safety awareness and fault diagnosis skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
