Position: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Job Type: Permanent / Onsite

My client a global leader within the aerospace industry are on the hunt to find a fantastic Mechanical Engineer!

Role and Responsibilities –

In this role you will be responsible for leading the design and support activities of actuation products (hydraulic and electro-mechanical). You will be fully involved in the full product life cycle for major projects for all major customers modifying and supporting in service products on various programmes.

Other responsibilities include:

• Development and modification of design documentation
• Lead cross-functional teams and support problem solving and corrective action activities to resolve design issues, ATP failures and customer returns/failures
• Design of test rigs and equipment
• Interpretation and management of customer's requirements/specifications

Experience or Qualifications –

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with extensive industry experience
• Experience of designing from customer specifications using 2D & 3D design tools, preferably SolidWorks.
• Proficient experience of designing mechanical and/or hydraulic products, preferably within an aviation environment
• Demonstrable experience of designing gears, preferably within an aviation business
