An award-winning Nuclear solutions business in Bristol seeks 12 Mechanical Engineers for roles in the Defence sector. The positions offer competitive salaries of £48,000 to £80,000 based on experience, with hybrid working options. Suitable candidates will have relevant Mechanical Engineering backgrounds and specific nuclear or defence sector experience.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
  • Experience in nuclear and/or defence sector is a plus.
  • Chartered Engineer status is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Working on major infrastructure projects in the Defence sector.
  • Support submarine decommissioning projects with the MoD.
  • Provide specialist nuclear technical services.

Job description

I'm working with an award-winning Nuclear solutions business based in Bristol (they also have an office in Reading) that are currently recruiting for 12x Mechanical Engineers broken down as follows:

6x Senior Mechanical Engineer - £48,000 to £61,500
6x Principal Mechanical Engineer - £61,500 to £80,000

You'd be working on projects in the Defence sector such as:

  • Major decommissioning and new infrastructure projects at AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment)
  • Submarine decommissioning project - supporting the MoD in the development of a submarine decommissioning demonstrator at Rosyth
  • Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework - supporting the MoD on a Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) framework to provide them with specialist nuclear technical services


The main skills/experience required for these roles are:

  • Prior experience in Mechanical Engineering (ESSENTIAL)
  • Experienced in mechanical/manual handling (ESSENTIAL)
  • Nuclear and/or Defence sector experience (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Experienced in using Autodesk Inventor (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Has a Mechanical Engineering Degree: BEng or MEng (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Chartered Engineer: CEng (NICE TO HAVE)

These roles are a great opportunity for experienced Mechanical Engineers looking to step into a bigger role and would like to work on nuclear projects in defence.

The roles are hybrid-working of 3x days per week on-site and you must be eligible for SC Clearance to be considered for these positions.
