Job summary

An award-winning Nuclear solutions business in Bristol is seeking 12 Mechanical Engineers, including Senior and Principal roles, to work on critical Defence projects. Candidates should have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, with essential experience in mechanical/manual handling and familiarity with the Defence or Nuclear sector being advantageous. The roles offer a hybrid working model of 3 days on-site and require eligibility for SC Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
  • Experience in mechanical/manual handling is a must.
  • Nuclear and/or Defence sector experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (BEng or MEng) is advantageous.
  • Certification as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Work on submarine decommissioning project with the MoD.
  • Support the Defence Infrastructure Organisation on frameworks.
  • Engage with nuclear technical services projects.

I'm working with an award-winning Nuclear solutions business based in Bristol that is currently recruiting for 12x Mechanical Engineers broken down as follows:

6x Senior Mechanical Engineer - £48,000 to £61,500
6x Principal Mechanical Engineer - £61,500 to £80,000

You'd be working on projects in the Defence sector such as:

  • Submarine decommissioning project - supporting the MoD in the development of a submarine decommissioning demonstrator at Rosyth
  • Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework - supporting the MoD on a Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) framework to provide them with specialist nuclear technical services

The main skills/experience required for these roles are:

  • Prior experience in Mechanical Engineering (ESSENTIAL)
  • Experienced in mechanical/manual handling (ESSENTIAL)
  • Nuclear and/or Defence sector experience (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Experienced in using Autodesk Inventor (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Has a Mechanical Engineering Degree: BEng or MEng (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Chartered Engineer: CEng (NICE TO HAVE)

These roles are a great opportunity for experienced Mechanical Engineers that are looking to step into a bigger role and would like to work on nuclear projects in the defence sector.

All roles are hybrid-working of 3x days per week on-site and you must be eligible for SC Clearance to be considered for these positions.
