Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join the Camberley Pumping Stations team. The role involves maintaining and repairing pumping station machinery and electrical equipment, with duties including fault diagnosis, testing, installation, and safe modification of plant.

Working full time from Camberley, the Mechanical & Electrical Technician maintains and repairs pumping station machinery and associated electrical equipment. Duties include inspection, fault diagnosis, testing, installation and modification of plant, carried out safely and with minimal supervision to keep sites operational. Applicants need solid mechanical and electrical knowledge plus relevant practical experience. The position offers a competitive salary of up to £45,000 annually, subject to skills and background. This role directly supports pollution reduction and environmental performance, making a tangible contribution to the organisation and its customers. We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to Join our Camberley Pumping Stations team.
Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns. You will investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents. You will be expected to provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
Examples of equipment that you will be working on will be various pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSDs, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling, and dosing equipment. Participate in a standby rota following the relevant training.
Base Location: Camberley STW, Riverside Way, Watchmoor Park, Camberley, GU15 3YL
Working Pattern: 38 Hours, Monday- Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase the earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
All PPE, tools, a company van and a fuel card are provided.
You must have previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in Electrical engineering with an up skill in mechanical NVQ2/3 is crucial.
