Job description

My client is a reputable and leading FM organisation, with over twenty-five years of experience in the maintenance industry. With a head office in Central London, many of the properties and premises they service are in a short walking distance of the office.

They are looking for a M&E Maintenance Engineer to join the M&E Division of their Property Services Department, that will include Mechanical & Electrical, HVAC and Water Hygiene services. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced M&E Engineer looking to step into a Lead role.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
  1. Lead and manage a team of engineers and contractors ensuring top-tier service delivery.
  2. Support PPM and reactive maintenance when needed ensuring smooth efficient building operations (including emergency lighting testing & remedials, PAT testing, water sampling, plumbing & water treatment remedial, servicing, diagnosing & inspection of AC, HVAC & water systems).
  3. Track KPIs and SLAs proactively addressing any service issues.
  4. Enforcing and preparing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, RAMs and maintain full regulatory compliance.
  5. Conduct regular audits and inspections ensuring maintenance aligns with best practices and safety standards and implementing safe working practices.
  6. Serve as a key technical contact providing guidance to both your team and the clients on-site leadership.
  7. Production of quotes and estimates including correct parts and labour times.
  8. Using the click system to complete job sheets, carry out quotes and provide certifications.
  9. Ordering and sourcing materials.
Required qualifications and experience:
  1. NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Experience within a Maintenance / Facilities Management environment.
  3. Previous experience and proven background within Mechanical & Electrical servicing & maintenance with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
  4. Health and Safety expertise and knowledge of compliance, RAMs and industry regulations.
  5. Leadership ability, confident in managing teams, problem-solving and driving operational success.
  6. Capability to perform manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces.
  7. General maintenance including basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical works.
  8. Full Driving Licence (not essential).
  9. Good customer service skills.
