As part of our new Network Maintenance Contract, we have an ambitious programme of bridge maintenance work, including upgrading or replacing life-expired and sub-standard Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) components on structures, such as the Caledonian Canal swing bridges on the A82 and A830 between Inverness and Fort William, and the operation/maintenance of the Kessock Bridge mobile inspection gantry. Our current budget for bridge M&E maintenance is £1-2 Million annually.
We are seeking an M&E Engineer with experience in moving structures and/or bridge gantries operation and maintenance to join our team based in Inverness.
The Engineer/Senior Engineer (M&E) will manage or carry out investigations, design, procurement, and construction of various bridge M&E schemes.
Candidates should have experience in designing/maintaining mechanical and hydraulic bridge components with electrical/electronic or systems control, and knowledge of health and safety, environmental, and commercial aspects.
We look for a self-motivated individual interested in career progression, with good teamwork and communication skills, flexibility, and a valid driving license.
