Job Description:

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a highly skilled Lead Critical Facilities Engineer (CFE Level VI) to join our Operations team. This day-time role involves developing innovative concepts within our Data Centres, engaging with UK and Global stakeholders to improve operational performance and customer experience.

Role Scope:

  • Management & People Management: Serve as second point of contact when IBX manager or supervisor is unavailable; support daily operations and coordination.
  • Site Operations & Project Involvement: Involved in site build activities, project scheduling, vendor liaison, and customer notifications.
  • Customer Interaction: Act as customer-facing representative, participate in meetings, and handle escalation during incidents.
  • Incident Management: Provide technical support, direct response efforts, and collaborate during incidents.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Support hiring as a technical assessor; flexible Monday–Friday role with incident coverage.

Who You Are:

  • Proven technical leadership during incidents and troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Strong organizational skills, project planning, and vendor management experience.
  • Collaborative, approachable, and capable of mentoring across levels.
  • Customer-focused, experienced in customer meetings and key contacts.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments with technical oversight responsibilities.
  • Flexible, solutions-oriented, and supportive of wider team efforts.
