Job summary

Arcus FM Limited is seeking a skilled AC-biased Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer in the Birmingham area for planned and reactive maintenance across a defined portfolio, ensuring first-rate service and prompt responses to emergencies.

The role covers planned and reactive maintenance on M&E systems, fault diagnosis across electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment, health & safety compliance, and providing technical support across sites, with mentoring for apprentices and junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E services/maintenance.
• Essential: F-Gas qualification.
• Desirable: 18th Edition, Test & Inspection, Unvented.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on M&E systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.
• Provide technical support across multiple sites.
• Liaise with customers to deliver outstanding service.
• Mentor apprentices and junior engineers.

We are seeking a dedicated professional to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a defined portfolio, ensuring top-quality service delivery and first-line response to emergencies.

• £36,910 or £42,447 (depending on experience)
• Full door-to-door pay
• Up to 4% bonus
• All overtime paid at time-and-a-half

About the Job

• Performing planned and reactive maintenance on M&E systems

To be successful you will have:

• Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E services/maintenance

• Previous experience in a similar role (retail or commercial experience preferred)
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• IT proficiency and ability to manage workload effectively

• This is a field-based role, requiring travel between client sites
• On-call duty required (1 in 4 weeks)
