Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Contracts Manager - Building Services

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical & Electrical Contracts Manager to join our newly formed Compliance service within the Housing, Neighbourhood and Building Services Directorate.

This is a key role responsible for managing large-scale Term Service Contracts related to gas servicing, mechanical and electrical repairs, and compliance for both housing and corporate assets.

Location:

Portsmouth (with travel to sites in Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport, and Fareham)

Contract Details:

• Full time, 37 hours per week, 6 months
• Salary: £30 per hour PAYE
• Hours: 09:00 - 17:00

Responsibilities:

• Managing gas servicing and repairs across 17,000+ homes
• Overseeing M&E servicing and compliance for commercial and corporate buildings
• Leading a team and managing contractors to ensure high performance and value for money
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards
• Developing policies, procedures, and strategies to support service delivery
• Contributing to procurement and contract management of major service contracts
• Supporting out-of-hours operations on a rota basis

Candidate Requirements:

• A relevant degree, ideally Chartered (or working towards) with RICS, CIBSE, or CIOB
• Strong knowledge of M&E compliance, regulations, and industry standards
• Proven experience in managing large service contracts (ideally NEC4)
• Experience managing budgets and teams, with a focus on service improvement
• Confidence in dealing with senior stakeholders and external partners
• A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
