Job description

ROLE: Mechanical Development Engineer

LOCATION: South Oxfordshire

TERM: Permanent

SALARY: GBP 35,000: GBP 42,000 per annum plus benefits (dependent on experience)

My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Development Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the South Oxfordshire area.

The Mechanical Development Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

: Degree qualified or the equivalent in Mechanical Engineering such as HND/ HND/ NVQ

: 2 years' or more experience working in a similar hands on Mechanical Design / Development / Manufacturing position within an engineering manufacturing environment

: Proficiency with using 3D CAD; ideally SolidWorks but other software will be considered

: Have the ability to select the correct engineering components and materials

: Experience of DFM

: Previous experience of working with machine assemblies, test rigs or precision tooling would be desirable

: Excellent communication skills and problem solving skills

: The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team

The Mechanical Development Engineer Role Will Involve

: Being involved in engineering projects

: Designing and developing products and manufacturing processes

: Working with SolidWorks CAD software to design machine parts and tools

: Being involved in product development; setting up equipment for testing

: Meeting deadlines and targets that are set

: Evaluating product specifications

: Helping resolve any manufacturing issues

: Managing own workload

: Carrying out product testing

: Working in a multi:disciplinary engineering team
