Job summary

Ignite Talent Group seeks a Mechanical Designer to support complex engineering projects within a highly regulated industrial environment. You will develop mechanical design solutions from concept through detailed design, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience delivering mechanical design in highly regulated industries (e.g., Nuclear, Defence, Energy, Pharmaceuticals).
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo).
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, P&IDs, technical drawings, and design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare GA drawings, manufacturing/fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
• Develop piping and support designs in line with project requirements and standards.
• Support the design lifecycle from concept to detailed design and implementation.
• Participate in design reviews, hazard reviews, and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers, construction teams, and suppliers to ensure design intent is achieved.
• Produce design documentation, technical reports, calculations, and specifications as required.
• Ensure outputs comply with QA processes and configuration control.
• Support site surveys and data gathering activities.
• Assist in resolving design queries during procurement, manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering best practices.
