Contract Mechanical Design / Project Engineer **
Manchester / Salford / Northwest region
£37.50 - £42.50p/h DOE – Outside IR35 (Limited Co. suitable)

Monday to Friday (40hrs p/w)

Minimum 6-month contract (likely extension)

Are you a self-starting Mechanical Design / Project Engineer with a passion for design projects from concept to manufacture? Join a market-leading engineering projects company that specialises in supplying bespoke process and special purpose machinery to high-end technology, food manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries.

As part of a dynamic and forward-thinking design & projects team, you'll take ownership of design projects from initial concept through to completion, working on unique, cutting-edge process equipment for key blue-chip multi- customers.

What You’ll Be Doing:

* Leading the full lifecycle of mechanical design projects, from site surveys, concept designs through detail design for manufacture.

* Producing high-quality 2D drawing utilising AutoCAD 2D, & 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.

* Designing process equipment and fabrications for production lines as well as associated pipework and platforms (full package design)

* Liaising with clients, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure successful design project delivery.

What We’re Looking For:

* Minimum HNC Mechanical Engineering

* Strong experience in AutoCAD 2D and 3D Solidworks

* A proven track record of managing design projects independently through to manufacture.

* A proactive, detail-oriented approach and a genuine passion for design project delivery

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

* Experience & flexible to visit customer sites to measure up for initial design concept

* Process industry experience – pharma / FMCG / Food / Beverage
