Overview

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer – Utilities to join PM Group working for us based out of any of our UK offices.

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer – Utilities

Location: Birmingham, Manchester or Edinburgh

Contract: Full Time – Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Produce technical reports, site appraisals, design calculations and manage project drawings with technical independence in the field of oil and gas transportation and storage systems design.
  • Experience of all stages of the design process from feasibility through to detailed design.
  • Adhere to relevant UK and international gas industry design codes such as IGEM/TD/1; TD/12; TD/13; TD/4; TD/3; ASME: B31.8; B31.3; B31.4; etc., and be experienced in developing project documentation, preparation and interpretation of drawings, Materials and Equipment Data sheets.
  • Follow PM Group file and document/drawing numbering guidelines, ensuring checking and approval of documents are in line with PM Group procedures.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with guidance from the project management team.
  • Promote PM Group's capabilities in all areas of the business.
Qualifications
  • As a minimum, a HND / HNC or equivalent in a related subject (e.g., Engineering, Construction or Science).
  • Proven level of experience in delivering complex and multi–disciplined design in one or more of Advanced Manufacturing & Technology, Chemical, Petrochemical, Energy & Environment, and Gas Sectors.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering and handling design.
  • Excellent organisational skills with an ability to produce quality work and achieve project deadlines within budget.
  • Self–driven, results–oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high–quality delivery.
  • A forward planner who identifies and resolves project challenges effectively.
