Were looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic and well-established building services consultancy on a contract basis. This is a fully remote role, offering flexibility while contributing to a range of technically challenging and rewarding projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed mechanical designs for building services systems (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, etc.)
Deliver accurate calculations, specifications, and reports using industry-standard software
Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams including electrical, sustainability, and project managers
Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with current standards and regulations
Support the delivery of design packages for RIBA stages 24
Maintain high technical standards while meeting project deadlines
Demonstrable experience working on educational buildings (schools, colleges, etc.)
Strong understanding of current UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines
Proficiency in mechanical design software such as Hevacomp, IES, or Revit MEP
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical building services design
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote setting
Good communication skills and the ability to contribute effectively to virtual design teams
6-month initial contract with potential for extension
Remote working must have suitable home setup and availability during core business hours
Rate: Negotiable, depending on experience
