Mechanical Design Engineer - Oxfordshire - EV / Automotive - Hybrid - £45k

Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Oxfordshire

Working Arrangement: 3 days in office per week (Average)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative company at the forefront of EV and automotive technology. This role offers the chance to work on whole vehicle development, focusing on key areas such as chassis, battery pack integration, and overall vehicle design.

The Role:

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems across the whole vehicle.
  • Work on battery pack integration, chassis design, and vehicle architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Use CAD and engineering analysis tools to create and optimize designs.
  • Support prototype builds and testing, refining designs based on real-world performance.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in automotive mechanical design, ideally within EV or vehicle development.
  • Strong CAD skills (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar).
  • Understanding of chassis, battery systems, and vehicle integration.
  • Background in an SME, small OEM, or a hands-on design-focused environment is preferred.
  • Passion for automotive technology and innovation.
