Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on solving difficult engineering problems? Are you drawn to complex projects and excited by the opportunity to rapidly progress into leadership positions, heading up projects and guiding junior engineers?

If so, you might enjoy solving the energy industry’s most important mechanical engineering conundrums for a multitude of energy systems across a variety of clients. You could be designing test rigs in support of the development of the UKs nuclear fusion capabilities, carrying out structural integrity assessments of primary plant (for civil and defence applications), designing high integrity structures for nuclear establishments, or leading renewable energy projects. The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, requiring adaptability and innovative problem-solving skills.

You will contribute to developing engineering solutions for industry challenges, making a significant impact on the UK’s energy and environmental security.

If you are a self-starter capable of delivering multiple projects, working closely with clients and internal teams to capture requirements and deliver solutions, we encourage you to apply.

Role Requirements:

• Degree qualified mechanical engineer or relevant qualification
• Experience in requirements capture, including functional, non-functional, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements
• Experience in generating design solutions via formal optioneering processes
• Experience in mechanical engineering substantiation for new designs or existing plant
• Proven ability to produce detailed technical reports
• Experience in delivering mechanical engineering solutions
• Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
• Effective team collaboration skills

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with engineering design codes
• Experience with bid writing in safety-critical environments
• Chartered status or nearing professional registration
