Job summary
Bowerford Associates is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the design team in Devon. You will design and specify new products and maintain the existing range, reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager.
The role focuses on delivering production-ready designs on time and to the required standards. You will develop from concept to detailed drawings, assess manufacturing methods, perform DFMEA, tolerance analysis and ensure DFM at handover with cross-functional teams, while
Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering or proven engineering background.
- Experience from concept to mass production on products.
- Experience with sheet metal processes and DFMEA.
Responsibilities
- Take products from conception to detailed engineering drawings for manufacture.
- Determine manufacturing methods for in-house and external fabrication.
- Carry out DFMEA and monitor actions.
- Perform tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability and quality.
- Collaborate with Development, Production Engineering and Purchasing to ensure DFMD and DFM at handover.
