Job summary

FoodEng Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a well-established engineering company in the UK. You will produce 2D and 3D drawings and liaise with project sales teams to capture exact requirements, while selecting materials and estimating manufacturing costs for bespoke machinery.

Responsibilities include designing for CNC manufacture, correcting design flaws, and coordinating with manufacturing to prototype pre-production systems.

Qualifications

• At least 18 months experience using 2D & 3D design software.
• Strong grasp of geometric tolerances and product standards.
• Experience designing High Value Capital Equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D/3D drawings meeting technical specs.
• Calculate geometric tolerances for assemblies.
• Collaborate with customers and sales to identify requirements.
• Select materials and estimate manufacturing costs.
• Design for CNC manufacturing and pre-production, prototypes.
• Assist with site visits and overseas travel as needed.
