Job summary

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the development of Counter-UAS systems from prototype to deployment. You will work across mechanical, electrical and wider systems interfaces in a start-up environment, with a focus on delivering robust, integrated solutions.

Candidates with ex-military backgrounds, especially REME, RAF or Royal Navy, are encouraged to apply. The role offers EMI share options, pension and healthcare, with a flexible 4 days in the office

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical design and analysis capability.
• Good understanding of electrical systems and how they interface with mechanical components.
• Experience integrating mechanical, electrical and electronic elements within a system.
• Proven ability to work with prototypes and drive development to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine the mechanical design and structures of the Counter-UAS system.
• Develop concepts and prototypes into robust, deployable solutions.
• Coordinate across mechanical and electrical interfaces for system integration.
• Support integration of sensors and detection technologies.
• Contribute to development of drone detection and interceptor capabilities.
• Take ownership from concept through to completion and collaborate with suppliers.
