Job summary

Debar Bifold-Hardware in Bradford is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive product development for bifold door hardware. You will take concepts through prototyping, testing and production, ensuring designs meet manufacturability and fit within complete door systems.

The role demands strong CAD skills (Inventor, SolidWorks or similar), experience with DFMA, and the ability to collaborate with external partners while developing globally scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent required; formal qualification mandatory.
• Experience designing physical products for manufacture rather than CAD modelling alone.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture, tolerances and stack-up analysis.
• Proficient in creating manufacturing-ready drawings and 3D models.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for bifold door hardware and systems.
• Collaborate with external systems houses and partners to integrate hardware solutions.
• Develop Debar’s proprietary and white-label systems for global markets.
• Create accurate 3D CAD models, drawings, specifications and BOMs.
• Progress concepts through prototyping, testing, validation and production release.
• Ensure hardware interacts with profiles and complete door systems with proper fit and movement.
