Job summary

Ata-Recruitment-Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Barnsley to produce bespoke designs for wear-resistant components and fabrications. You will work closely with production to deliver high-quality solutions across heavyduty industries.

The role combines design work with engineering administration; you will be responsible for drawings, reversals, and integration with manufacturing processes. A strong background in 2D/3D CAD and CAM software is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong experience using 2D AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor 3D.
• Experience with ProNest or a similar nesting/CAM software.
• Ability to manage workload independently and make design decisions.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Produce 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, creating new designs and modifying existing ones to meet customer requirements.
• Reverse engineer worn or underperforming components to develop improved, longer-lasting solutions.
• Design a range of products, from profile-cut parts to large fabrications including hoppers, cyclones, chutes and ducting.
• Prepare route cards, order materials and maintain the ProNest plasma cutting system to support manufacturing.
• Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure designs are accurate, practical and delivered on time.
