Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in Workington. Hours of work: Up to 40 hours Mon-Friday
Applicants must have experience of the following:
- HNC/HND
- Able to practice cost value engineering
- Nuclear experience or in another highly regulated industry
- Experience in a design team
- Experience working within time and budget
- IT literate
- Proficient in Autodesk, AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
- IOSH working safely certificate
Ideally applicants should also have:

- Minimum 5 years industry experience
- Experience with heavy equipment
- Engineering Degree
- All experience levels will be considered

Role information:

- Ensure health and safety regulations and procedures are adhered to
- Provide design specifications and project estimates
- Ensure quality standards are met
- Ensure the efficient and cost effective delivery of the project
- Liaise with external suppliers to ensure supplies are available for the project
- Work as a part of a larger team or individually to achieve project objectives
- Act as deputy for the lead engineer when required
