Mechanical Design Engineer – Electro-Mechanical Components & Mechanisms

An established and rapidly growing engineering firm, specialising in electro-mechanical components and mechanisms, is looking to expand its technical team with the addition of a Design Engineer. With a long-standing reputation for delivering high-performance solutions in critical sectors, this company offers a unique opportunity to develop your engineering career in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

As a key part of the design and development function, you will work on both new product development and the continuous improvement of existing systems, while also supporting custom, modular product orders for a diverse customer base.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer:


  • Designing and developing new electro-mechanical products and systems


  • Supporting the improvement and modification of existing designs


  • Managing drawing updates and maintaining bills of materials


  • Liaising with customers and internal teams across engineering, production, and sales


  • Occasionally assisting with hands-on assembly work and visiting customer sites


  • Supporting documentation and product information for marketing and technical teams


What We’re Looking For in a Mechanical Design Engineer:


  • ONC, HNC, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Electrical Engineering


  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (such as SolidWorks or similar)


  • Creative, logical, and solutions-focused mindset


  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail


  • Excellent communication skills—written and verbal


  • Proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented attitude
