A leading engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Warrington on a full-time basis. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD in Engineering or equivalent technical capability.
  • Technical experience relevant to the engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability.
  • Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and justification.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards.
  • Experience as design engineer operating across the product life cycle, undertaking design safety justification activities supporting manufacturing, integration, maintenance/refit activities and dealing with operational issues.
  • Experience of Research and development, analytical and test verification activities.
  • Experience in the development of methods, standards and processes.

  • Understand product system/sub-system requirements and derive component requirements.
  • Produce robust design solutions that address specified requirements.
  • Collaborate and communicate design information with stakeholders.
  • Search for, capture, store, and re-use knowledge relating to design activity.

Job Description

Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work at our customer's site in Warrington on a contract basis.

Role details
  • Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer
  • Contract length: 12 months
  • Location: Warrington
  • Contract type: PAYE via Umbrella solution
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • To understand Product system/sub-system requirements and derive Component requirements at task level.
  • To produce robust design solutions which are insensitive to variation to address specified requirements.
  • To collaborate and communicate design solution information with task stakeholders.
  • To search for, capture, store, and re‑use knowledge relating to design activity.
  • To understand and apply the commodity standards and to create new standards where none exist.
  • To liaise with manufacturing and service engineering to actively integrate the experience and knowledge from these areas.
  • To check own and others' design solutions and technical for completeness and correctness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.
  • Technical experience relevant to the engineering discipline.
  • An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems.
  • Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and justification.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards.
  • Experience as design engineer operating across the product life cycle, undertaking design safety justification activities supporting manufacturing, integration, maintenance/refit activities and dealing with operational issues.
  • Experience of Research and development, analytical and test verification activities.
  • Experience in the development of methods, standards and processes.
